the Goose who does the Tattoos

Sydney “Goose” Lange (she/they) is a queer multidisciplinary artist and tattooer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She earned a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in 2019, focusing on drawing, painting, printmaking, and art history.

Sydney began tattooing with hand-poke techniques in college and transitioned to machine work in 2020. Licensed and primarily self-taught, she specializes in styles like American traditional, neotraditional, illustrative, and blackwork. Her favorite subjects to tattoo include vintage objects, nature, ladies, and spooky themes.

In August 2023, Sydney opened Patchwork Collective, a studio dedicated to fostering community and connection through tattooing. Her tattoo practice centers on body positivity and open communication, ensuring clients feel confident and comfortable throughout the process. She aims to create tattoos clients will cherish for life.

  • The shop has a cozy and eclectic atmosphere that is so welcoming and unique. There are snacks and water bottles available if you need or want them and both of the artists are super nice and accommodating. I was tattooed by Sydney and they were super talkative and friendly. They were very easy to work with on designs and it has healed so nicely! They both had really affordable prices, too. Both were 10/10, I can't recommend them enough!

Sydney made me feel very comfortable and made sure to explain the whole process to me because it was my first time. Would definitely get another tattoo with Sydney! As well as go back to Patchwork Collective. It is a nice cozy place where I felt welcome.

  • Syd is such a sweetheart!!! She listened to all my concerns about combining designs from her flash and my explanations about the importance of the design. She also had 3 different sizes ready and let me take breaks easily when it felt too spicy. She was also so ready with snacks and even a pressure ball for me to squeeze during the session. Always on it, making new work, and so ready to create cool things. The easiest person to talk to. Just plain glad to have her in my community.
